Special Stitches

  • Cluster (cl): Yarn over, insert hook into indicated stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (2 loops on hook). Yarn over, insert hook into same stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull through 2 loops (3 loops on hook). Yarn over, pull through all 3 loops.
  • Picot: Chain 3, slip stitch into the third chain from hook.
  • Front Post Double Crochet (fpdc): Yarn over, insert hook from front to back around the post of the indicated stitch, yarn over, pull up a loop, (yarn over, pull through 2 loops) twice.

Round 2: Chain 3 (counts as first dc), dc in same stitch. 2 dc in each stitch around. Join with slip stitch to top of beginning ch-3. (24 dc)

Round 3: Chain 1, sc in same stitch. *Chain 5, skip next 2 dc, sc in next dc.* Repeat from * around, ending with chain 5, skip last 2 dc. Join with slip stitch to first sc. (8 chain-5 spaces)

Round 4: Slip stitch into first chain-5 space. Chain 3 (counts as first dc), 2 dc in same space, chain 2. *3 dc in next chain-5 space, chain 2.* Repeat from * around. Join with slip stitch to top of beginning ch-3. (8 groups of 3 dc)

Round 5: Chain 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 2 dc. *Work (dc, ch 2, dc) in the chain-2 space. Dc in next 3 dc.* Repeat from * around, ending with (dc, ch 2, dc) in last chain-2 space. Join with slip stitch to top of beginning ch-3. (8 chain-2 spaces)

Round 6: Chain 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 3 dc. *Work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the chain-2 space. Dc in next 5 dc.* Repeat from * around, ending with (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in last chain-2 space, dc in last dc. Join with slip stitch to top of beginning ch-3. (8 chain-2 spaces)

Round 7: Chain 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next 4 dc. *Work (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in the chain-2 space. Dc in next 7 dc.* Repeat from * around, ending with (2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc) in last chain-2 space, dc in last 2 dc. Join with slip stitch to top of beginning ch-3. (8 chain-2 spaces)

Round 18: Slip stitch into first chain-9 space. Chain 1, (sc, hdc, 9 dc, hdc, sc) in each chain-9 space around. Join with slip stitch to first sc. Fasten off Ecru. (8 largest petals)

Round 19: Join Silver with a slip stitch in the sc between any two petals. Chain 1, sc in same stitch. *Chain 5, skip next 11 stitches (the petal), sc in the sc between petals.* Repeat from * around, ending with chain 5, skip last 11 stitches. Join with slip stitch to first sc. (8 chain-5 spaces)
