Materials

• Yarn: Bulky weight, 150 yards (color: blue)
• Needles: US size 10 (6mm) knitting needles
• Cable needle
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

4 stitches = 1 inch in stockinette stitch

Abbreviations

• k: knit
• p: purl
• c4f: slip 2 stitches to cable needle, hold in front, knit next 2 stitches, knit stitches from cable needle
• rep: repeat

Instructions

Cast On and Setup

Cast on 32 stitches.

Ribbed Border

Row 1: *K2, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 2: *P2, k2; rep from * to end.
Repeat these two rows 4 times for a total of 8 rows of ribbing.

Main Cable Pattern

Rows 9-12: *K4, p2, k4, p2; rep from * to end.
Row 13: *C4f, p2, c4f, p2; rep from * to end.
Rows 14-20: *K4, p2, k4, p2; rep from * to end.

Repeat

Repeat Rows 9-20 nine times or until the scarf measures desired length.

Finishing

Repeat the Ribbed Border section for 8 rows.
Bind off all stitches in pattern.
Weave in all ends using the tapestry needle.

Block

Gently block your scarf to enhance the cables and even out any irregularities.
