Materials

• DK weight yarn in green (100g)
• DK weight yarn in pink (20g)
• 4mm knitting needles
• Darning needle

Gauge

22 stitches and 30 rows = 4 inches (10 cm) in stockinette stitch.

Instructions

Back

1. CO 50 sts with green yarn.
2. Knit 4 rows in ribbing pattern: k2, p2.
3. Continue in stockinette stitch (knit one row, purl one row) for 20 rows.
4. Shape armholes: k2tog at beginning and end of next two rows (46 sts).
5. Continue in stockinette for 10 additional rows.
6. BO all sts loosely.

Front

1. CO 50 sts with green yarn.
2. Knit 4 rows in ribbing pattern: k2, p2.
3. Continue in stockinette stitch for 12 rows.
4. On the next RS row, using intarsia method, incorporate pink yarn to knit a heart shape centered on 24 middle sts. Use a chart if needed.
5. Continue in stockinette stitch with green yarn until piece measures same as back, shaping armholes as for back.
6. BO all sts loosely.

Sleeves

1. CO 30 sts with green yarn.
2. Knit 4 rows in ribbing pattern: k2, p2.
3. Work in stockinette stitch for 15 rows.
4. BO all sts loosely.

Finishing

1. Block all pieces to measurements.
2. Sew front and back pieces together at the shoulders.
3. Sew the sleeves into the armholes.
4. Sew side seams and underarm seams.
5. Weave in all ends using the darning needle.
