Materials:
- DK weight yarn, approximately 600 yards
- US Size 8 (5 mm) knitting needles
- US Size 7 (4.5 mm) circular knitting needles (optional for binding off)
- Stitch marker
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge: 18 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in openwork pattern
Size Chart:
- Small (34-36" bust)
- Medium (38-40" bust)
- Large (42-44" bust)
- X-Large (46-48" bust)
Pattern Instructions:
Body:
- Cast on 80 (90, 100, 110) stitches using larger needles.
- Work in 2x2 ribbing (k2, p2) for 2 inches.
- Switch to openwork pattern:
Row 1: *K2, yo, k2tog; repeat from * to end. Row 2: Purl all stitches. - Repeat these two rows until body measures 18 (20, 22, 24) inches from cast-on edge.
- Bind off loosely using smaller needles.
Sleeves:
- Pick up 40 (45, 50, 55) stitches along the armhole using larger needles.
- Work in 2x2 ribbing for 2 inches.
- Switch to openwork pattern and repeat the same as body until the sleeve measures 10 (11, 12, 13) inches.
- Bind off loosely.
Finishing:
- Weave in all ends using tapestry needle.
- Block lightly to allow for the openwork pattern to shine.
- Enjoy your new top by styling it with jeans, a skirt, or shorts!
