Instructions
Cast On
- CO 80 stitches using the long-tail cast-on method.
- Place a stitch marker to indicate the beginning of the round.
Ribbing
- Round 1: *K1, P1; repeat from * to end of round.
- Repeat Round 1 for a total of 8 rounds to create the ribbed band.
Body of the Beanie
- Change to stockinette stitch (knit every round) as follows:
- Continue knitting in the round for 10-12 more rounds (or until the beanie measures about 7 inches from the cast-on edge).
Decrease for the Crown
- Round 1: *K8, K2tog; repeat from * to end of round (72 stitches remain).

Finishing

- Thread the tail through the remaining stitches on the needle and pull tight to close the top of the hat.
- Weave in any loose ends using the tapestry needle.
