Colorful Crochet Mandalas for Tree Wrapping

This project will guide you through creating beautiful circular crochet mandalas to wrap around trees or decorate your garden. Each mandala is made with bright, contrasting colors and varying sizes to create an eye-catching display.

Materials

  • Yarn: Various colors of worsted weight yarn (approximately 5-10 colors; examples: red, pink, blue, green, yellow, black, white)
  • Hook: Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
  • Scissors: For trimming excess yarn
  • Tapestry needle: For weaving in ends

Gauge

While gauge is not critical for this project, aim for approximately 4 inches = 10 stitches in single crochet.

Abbreviations

  • ch: chain
  • sc: single crochet
  • dc: double crochet
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • st(s): stitch(es)

  9. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Mandala 2

  1. Color E: Repeat steps 1-6 with different color combinations, ensuring at least one round includes black for contrast.

Finishing

  1. Using your tapestry needle, weave in all ends snugly.
  2. Attach the mandalas around the tree by sewing or tying them on securely, or simply draping them over branches.
