Knitting Cosmic Galaxy Pillow

Materials Needed:

• DK weight yarn in dark blue
• DK weight yarn in white for embroidery
• 4.0 mm (US 6) circular needles
• Embroidery needle
• 16" pillow insert
• Stitch markers
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle

Abbreviations:

• CO - Cast On
• BO - Bind Off
• k - knit
• p - purl
• rnd - round

Instructions:

1. Cast on 120 stitches using the 4.0 mm circular needles and the dark blue yarn. Join in the round, placing a stitch marker at the beginning of the round.

2. Work in stockinette stitch (knit all stitches) for 100 rounds, or until the pillowcase measures the diameter of your pillow insert.

3. Bind off all stitches loosely and weave in the ends using the tapestry needle.

Finishing and Embroidery:

1. Using the white yarn and the embroidery needle, embroider stars and constellations on the surface of the knitted piece. Refer to a star map or use your creativity to design various constellations across the pillow.

2. Place the pillow insert inside the knitted cover.
