Bright Orange Knit Ribbed Beanie
This simple and stylish ribbed beanie pattern is designed for beginners, using vibrant orange yarn to create a bold, cozy accessory perfect for cold weather.
Materials
- 1 skein of bulky weight yarn in orange
- 5 mm (US 8) knitting needles
- Stitch marker
- Yarn needle
- Tape measure
Gauge
14 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in 2x2 rib pattern

Instructions
1. Begin the Ribbing
- CO 80 sts using the long-tail cast-on method.
- Join to knit in the round, being careful not to twist the stitches. Place a stitch marker at the beginning of the round.
- Round 1: *K2, p2; repeat from * to end of round.
- Continue working in k2, p2 ribbing until the piece measures 7 inches from the cast-on edge.
2. Shape the Crown
- Round 1: *K2, p2tog; repeat from * to end of round. (60 sts)
- Round 2: *K2, p1; repeat from * to end of round.
- Round 3: *K2tog, p1; repeat from * to end of round. (40 sts)
- Round 4: *K1, p1; repeat from * to end of round.
- Round 5: *K2tog; repeat from * to end of round. (20 sts)
- Round 6: *K2tog; repeat from * to end of round. (10 sts)
3. Finishing
- Cut the yarn, leaving a 10-inch tail.
- Thread the tail through the remaining stitches and pull tight to close the top of the hat.
- Weave in all ends using a yarn needle.
Finishing Touches
This beanie can be adorned with a pom-pom or left as is for a sleek finish. Block lightly if desired, to even out stitches.
