Textured Knit Blanket with Color Blocks
Materials:
- 2 skeins of bulky weight yarn in red
- 2 skeins of bulky weight yarn in gray
- Knitting needles, size 10.5 (6.5mm)
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge:
4 stitches and 6 rows = 1 inch in garter stitch
Abbreviations:
- CO: Cast On
- K: Knit
- BO: Bind Off
Instructions:
Beginning with Red Section
- Using red yarn, CO 80 stitches.
- Row 1: K all stitches.
- Repeat Row 1 for a total of 40 rows, or until the section measures approximately 7 inches.
Add the Gray Stripe
- Change to gray yarn.
- Row 1: K all stitches.
- Repeat Row 1 for 4 rows to create a distinct color stripe between the sections.
Complete with Gray Section
- Continue with gray yarn, repeating Row 1 for a total of 40 rows, or until the gray section matches the length of the red section.
- Ensure the overall length of your blanket measures around 28 inches.
Finishing
- BO all stitches loosely.
- Trim yarn, leaving a tail to weave in.
- Use the tapestry needle to weave in all loose ends.
