Striped Knit Blanket Pattern

Materials:

  • Worsted weight yarn in green and navy blue (approximately 600 yards of each color)
  • Size US 9 (5.5 mm) knitting needles
  • Yarn needle
  • Scissors

Gauge:

16 stitches and 22 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Abbreviations:

  • CO: Cast On
  • k: Knit
  • p: Purl
  • BO: Bind Off

Instructions:

  1. Stripe Pattern:
    • Work 12 rows with green yarn
    • Work 12 rows with navy blue yarn
  2. Blanket:
    1. CO 120 stitches with green yarn.
    2. Work in stockinette stitch, starting with a knit row, for 12 rows.
    3. Switch to navy blue yarn and continue in stockinette stitch for 12 rows.
    4. Repeat the stripe pattern until your blanket measures approximately 60 inches or your desired length, ending with a navy blue stripe.
    5. BO all stitches loosely.
  3. Finishing:
    1. Weave in all ends using a yarn needle.
    2. Block the blanket to even out the stitches if desired.
