Instructions:

Foundation:

With Color A, ch 30.

Row 1:

Sc in 2nd ch from hook, sc in each ch across. Turn (29 sc)

Row 2:

Ch 2 (counts as dc now and throughout), dc in same st, skip next st, *dc in next st, ch 1, skip next st; repeat from * across, dc in last st. Turn.

Row 3:

Ch 1, sc in each dc and ch-1 space across. Turn.

Row 4:

Ch 2, dc in same st, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st; repeat from * across, dc in last st. Turn.

Row 5:

Ch 1, sc in each dc and ch-1 space across. Turn.

Repeat Rows 2-5 until piece measures approximately 8" from the foundation chain.

Border:

With Color B, switch yarn, sc evenly around the entire edge of the square, placing 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
