Crochet Vibrant Granny Square Boho Purse Free Pattern

Materials Needed

• Worsted weight cotton yarn in brown, cream, red, yellow, green, blue, and orange.
• Crochet hook size 5.0 mm (H/8).
• Tapestry needle.

Gauge

Each granny square measures 2.5" x 2.5" (6.5 cm x 6.5 cm).

Instructions

Granny Square (Make 18)

1. With accent color of your choice, create a magic ring.
2. Round 1: ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 11 dc into ring, join with sl st into top of ch 3. Fasten off and change to cream color.
3. Round 2: Attach cream yarn, ch 3, 1 dc in same st, ch 1, *(2 dc, ch 1) in next st*, repeat from * to * around, join with sl st. Fasten off.

Purse Body

1. Assemble 18 granny squares in 2 rows of 9. Join using sc in cream color.
2. With brown, sc evenly around the entire piece, working 3 sc in each corner. Fasten off.
3. Repeat border on opposite side, joining at top edges only.

Purse Assembly

1. Fold piece in half, and sew up the sides using sc with brown yarn.
2. For the bottom, turn purse inside-out and sew through both layers with a tapestry needle for a flat seam.

Strap

1. With brown yarn, ch 80.
2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and across, turn.
3. Rows 2-4: ch 1, sc across, turn. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
4. Attach strap ends to inside of purse securely.

Finishing

• Weave in all ends.
• If desired, sew in lining and add magnetic snap closure.
