Crochet Textured Vintage Floral Tissue Box Cover

Materials Needed:

Gauge: 16 stitches and 20 rows = 4 inches in double crochet

Finished Size: Fits standard square tissue boxes

Stitch Guide:

  • Chain (ch)
  • Slip stitch (sl st)
  • Single crochet (sc)
  • Double crochet (dc)
  • Half double crochet (hdc)

Instructions:

Base

  1. With cream yarn, make a magic ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), 11 dc into the ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)
  3. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same stitch, 2 dc in each stitch around. Join. (24 dc)
  4. Round 3: Ch 3, *dc in next stitch, 2 dc in next* repeat around. Join. (36 dc)
  5. Rounds 4-6: Ch 3, dc in each stitch around. Join.

Sides

  1. Switch to a textured stitch (like the moss stitch) for the body: Ch 1, *sc in next stitch, skip one stitch, hdc in next* repeat around. Join.
  2. Work 15 rows in the textured stitch.

Top Edge

  1. Round 1: Switch back to cream yarn. Ch 1, sc around the top edge. Join.
  2. Round 2: Ch 3, dc in each sc around. Join. (You can leave a small opening for tissues.)

Floral Motifs
