- Size H (5.0 mm) crochet hook
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Measuring tape
Gauge:
16 stitches and 8 rows in double crochet = 4 inches.

This pattern is sized for a toddler (2T-4T) but can be easily adjusted for larger sizes.
Stitch Abbreviations:
- ch – chain
- dc – double crochet
- sk – skip
- sp – space
- sl st – slip stitch
- tr – treble crochet
Pattern Instructions:
Start with the Yoke:
- Chain 60 (or desired width, multiples of 4).
- Row 1: Dc in 4th ch from hook, *ch 1, sk 1 ch, dc in next ch; repeat from * to the end. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), *dc in next ch-1 sp, ch 1; repeat from * to end. Turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until the yoke measures 8 inches or desired length.
Creating the Body:
- Continue in lace pattern, increasing each row by 2 stitches until reaching desired width for the body (approx. 15-17 inches).
- Once width is achieved, continue straight until body measures 15 inches from yoke.
Sleeves:
- For sleeves, divide body into three sections: front, back, and sleeves.
- Attach yarn at the underarm and crochet in round, creating sleeves by adding additional rows of dc and lace patterns for 4-5 inches.
Finishing Touches:
- For the hem, switch to a simple double crochet round for 2 inches for a clean finish.
- Weave in all ends using a yarn needle.
- Block the tunic gently to open up the lace pattern and shape it properly.
Customization:
Feel free to add embellishments such as buttons or ribbons to enhance the design!
Care Instructions:
Hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry to maintain the integrity of the lace.
