Crochet Festive Christmas Tree Keyhole Towel Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

• Worsted weight yarn in white, green, brown, yellow, red
• Crochet hook size H/5.0 mm
• Yarn needle
• Button for fastening

Stitches Used:

• Ch - Chain
• Sc - Single crochet
• Dc - Double crochet
• Sl st - Slip stitch

Instructions:

Towel Base:

1. With white yarn, ch 40.
2. Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each ch across. (39 sc)
3. Row 2-50: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each stitch across.
4. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Hanging Tab:

1. With green yarn, join to one corner of the towel top.
2. Row 1: Ch 1, sc in first 6 st.
3. Row 2-15: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across.
4. Buttonhole Row: Ch 1, turn. Sc in first 2 st, ch 2, skip 2 st, sc in last 2 st.
5. Last Row: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st and ch across. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Christmas Tree Appliqué:

Tree Sections:

1. Bottom Section: With green, ch 15, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each across. Turn and continue until you have 3 rows. Fasten off.
2. Middle Section: With green, ch 11, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each across. Turn and continue until you have 2 rows. Fasten off.
3. Top Section: With green, ch 7, dc in 3rd ch from hook and in each across. Turn and continue 1 row. Fasten off.

Tree Trunk:

1. With brown yarn, ch 6.
2. Row 1-2: Dc in each ch across. Fasten off.

Star Topper:

1. With yellow yarn, start with a magic circle.
2. Round 1: Ch 1, 5 sc in circle, sl st to join.
3. Round 2: *(Ch 2, sl st) in each sc around. Fasten off.

Ornaments:

1. With red and yellow, make small pom-poms or use bobbles to decorate the tree.

Assembly:

Sew the trunk at the bottom center of the towel. Layer and sew each tree section above the trunk, largest to smallest. Attach small ornaments and the star on top. Finally, sew the button for the hanging tab.
