  • Worsted weight yarn in cream—approximately 1500 yards
  • Crochet hook size H/8 (5.0 mm)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Scissors

Gauge

4” x 4” (10 cm x 10 cm) = 16 stitches x 12 rows in pattern stitch.

Size

Finished dimensions: Approximately 50” x 60”.

Abbreviations

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • sk = skip
  • st(s) = stitch(es)

Instructions

Foundation Row

Ch 170. (or odd multiple to adjust the width)

Row 1

Sc in the second ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (169 sts)

Row 2

Ch 3 (counts as dc here and throughout), *sk next st, dc in next st, dc in skipped st; repeat from * across. End with a dc in final st. Turn.

Row 3

Ch 1, sc in each st across. Turn.

Row 4

Ch 3, dc in first st, *sk next st, dc in next st, dc in skipped st; repeat from * across, end with dc in last st. Turn.

Row 5

Repeat Row 3.

Rows 6-120

Repeat Rows 2-5, ending with a Row 3 repeat.

Finishing

Fasten off and weave in ends using the tapestry needle.

Border

With RS facing, attach yarn at any corner.

Round 1

Sc evenly around all sides of blanket, working 3 sc in each corner. Join with sl st to first sc.

Round 2

Ch 1, sc in each st around, working 3 sc in each corner st. Join with sl st to first sc. Fasten off and weave in ends.
