Crochet Festive Holiday Granny Square Afghan Free Pattern

Instructions

Granny Square Base

1. Start with a magic ring. Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc into the ring, ch 2, *(3 dc, ch 2)* 3 times. Sl st to the top of the initial ch-3 to join.
2. Sl st into the next 2 dc and into the ch-2 space. Ch 3, 2 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in the same space, *ch 1, (3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc) in the next ch-2 space* around. Sl st to join.
3. Continue the pattern, working 3 dc, ch 2, 3 dc in each corner ch-2 space, and 3 dc in each ch-1 space between corners.

Snowflake Motif

1. Begin with a magic ring. Ch 1, 8 sc in the ring. Sl st to first sc to close.
2. Ch 4, sl st in second ch from hook, ch 1, *skip next sc, sl st in next sc, ch 4, sl st in second ch from hook, ch 1* around. Sl st to first sl st to finish.
3. Sew to center of selected granny square.
