Crochet Elegant Petal Motif Throw Blanket
Materials
- Sport weight yarn, approximately 1,200 yards
- 4.0 mm (G) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Gauge
18 stitches x 10 rows = 4 inches in pattern stitch.
Finished Size
Approx. 50 x 60 inches.
Stitch Abbreviations
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sc = single crochet
- tr = treble crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
Pattern Instructions
Petal Motif
- Starting with a magic ring, ch 3 (counts as first dc), and work 11 dc into the ring. Pull the ring tight and join with sl st to top of ch 3.
- Round 2: Ch 3, dc in same st, *ch 2, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3.
- Round 3: Sl st into next ch 2 space, ch 1, *sc in same space, ch 6, sc in next ch 2 space; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc.
- Round 4: In each ch 6 space, work 2 dc, ch 2, 2 dc. Join with sl st to first dc.
Assembling the Blanket
- Make as many petal motifs as desired (approx. 30 for full blanket).
- Join motifs together using sl st or whip stitch along the edge of petals. Arrange motifs in a visually pleasing manner.
Finishing
Weave in all ends securely. Block the finished blanket to shape and visualize the petal design better.
