Materials:

• DK weight yarn (approx. 100 yards)
• 3.5 mm (E) crochet hook

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• dc = double crochet
• tr = treble crochet
• sl st = slip stitch

Instructions:

1. Foundation Chain: Ch 60.
2. Row 1: Starting from the second chain from the hook, sc in each chain across. Turn (59 sc).
3. Row 2: Ch 4 (counts as 1 dc and 1 ch), skip the first sc, *(dc, ch 1) in the next sc, skip the next sc; repeat from * across. End with a dc in the last sc. Turn.
4. Row 3: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), dc in first ch-1 space, *ch 1, (dc, ch 2, dc) in next ch-1 space; repeat from * until end. Ch 1, dc in the top of the turning ch. Turn.
5. Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
6. Row 5: Repeat Row 3.
7. Row 6 - 10: Continue alternating between Rows 2 and 3 until the piece measures approximately 18 inches.”
8. Floral Motifs: Create 3 floral motifs:
   • Ch 6, join with sl st to form a ring.
   • Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as 1 dc), 11 dc in the ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3.
   • Round 2: Ch 1, *(sc in next dc, ch 4, skip next dc); repeat from * around. Join.
   • Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
