Striped Zipper Cardigan

Materials
- Worsted weight yarn in Red, Pale Pink, White, and Black.

Instructions
Body
- With Red, CO 180 sts. Join to work in the round, being careful not to twist sts. Place marker to indicate beginning of round.
- Ribbing: k2, p2 around for 2 inches.
- Stripe Pattern: Work in Stockinette Stitch (knit all rounds) following the stripe sequence: 8 rounds Red, 8 rounds Pale Pink, 8 rounds White, 8 rounds Black. Repeat this sequence 3 times.
- Work until body measures 20 inches from cast on edge, ending with 8 rounds of the Black section.
- Next Round: Knit across first 90 sts (for front), place next 90 sts on a holder (for back).
Front
- Working on the front 90 sts, work in Stockinette Stitch, maintaining stripe pattern, until front measures 22 inches from cast on edge, ending with a WS row.
- Neck Shaping: Bind off 6 sts at the neck edge every RS row 3 times.
- Work even until front measures 24 inches from cast on. Bind off remaining sts.
Back
- Return to back 90 sts. Work in Stockinette Stitch, maintaining stripe pattern, until back matches front to shoulder shaping.
- Bind off 6 sts at the neck edge every RS row three times.
- Work even until back matches front. Bind off remaining sts.
Sleeves
- With Red, CO 40 sts. Work in k2, p2 ribbing for 2 inches.
- Switch to Stockinette Stitch, maintaining stripe pattern. Increase 1 st at each end of every 10th row until there are 60 sts.
- Work until sleeve measures 20 inches from cast on edge. Bind off.
- Repeat for second sleeve.
Finishing
- Block pieces to measurements.
- Sew shoulder seams.
- Set in sleeves and sew side seams and sleeve seams.
- Carefully sew in the zipper along the front edges, ensuring it aligns neatly.
- Weave in all ends.
