Crochet Soft Lavender Baby Cocoon with Tassel Free Pattern

Materials
- Yarn: Bulky weight yarn in lavender
- Hook: 6.5 mm crochet hook
- Notions: Yarn needle, scissors, one wooden button (1 inch diameter)
Abbreviations
- ch: chain
- sc: single crochet
- sl st: slip stitch
Pattern
Base of Cocoon
- Ch 4, join with sl st to form a ring.
- Round 1: Ch 1, work 8 sc into ring, join with sl st. (8 sc)
- Round 2: Ch 1, 2 sc in each st around, join with sl st. (16 sc)
- Round 3: Ch 1, *sc in next st, 2 sc in next st*, repeat from * to * around, join with sl st. (24 sc)
- Continue increasing by 8 sc evenly each round until you have 64 sc.
- Work even in sc for 12 rows or until desired length, then finish off.
Wrap Section
- Ch 21, turn.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and across. (20 sc)
- Rows 2-40: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across. (Continue until wrap reaches desired width to overlap cocoon snuggly.)
Hood
- Ch 32, turn.
- Row 1: Sc in second ch from hook and in each across. (31 sc)
- Rows 2-28: Ch 1, turn, sc in each st across.
- Fold in half, sew seam to form point.
Finishing
- Attach the hood to the base of the cocoon by sewing along the edge.
- Sew the wrap in place by attaching it at either side of the cocoon base.
- Sew on the button securely on one side of the wrap edge.
- Make a tassel using lavender yarn and attach it to the pointed end of the hood.
