Step-by-Step Instructions
Placemats
- Begin with the seafoam yarn. Chain (ch) 51.
- Row 1: Double crochet (dc) in the 4th chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn your work. (You should have 48 dc.)
- Row 2: Chain 3 (this counts as your first dc), then *skip the next dc, dc in the next dc, dc in the skipped dc (this creates a cross stitch)*. Repeat from * to * across the row. Turn your work.
- Rows 3-4: Repeat Row 2 for two more rows.
- Change to deep blue yarn. Repeat Row 2 for 4 additional rows.

Napkin Rings
- Using the seafoam yarn, chain 20.
- Join the last chain to the first chain with a slip stitch (sl st) to form a ring.
- Round 1: Chain 1, then single crochet (sc) in each chain around. Join with a slip stitch to the first sc. (You should have 20 sc.)
- Round 2: Chain 3 (this counts as your first dc), then dc in each sc around. Join with a slip stitch to the top of the chain-3.
