Instructions

Gauge

8 stitches x 12 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch

Pattern

1. CO 60 stitches
2. Row 1 (RS): *K2, P2* repeat from * to * until end of row
3. Row 2 (WS): *P2, K2* repeat from * to * until end of row
4. Repeat rows 1 and 2 four times to create ribbing.
5. Row 9 (RS): K5, *C4F, K2, P2, K2* repeat from * to * until last 5 stitches, K5
6. Row 10 (WS): P5, *P2, K2, P4* repeat from * to * until last 5 stitches, P5
7. Continue pattern, maintaining 5 edge stitches in garter, repeating the cable pattern until the piece measures approximately 9 inches.
8. End with 4 rows of garter stitch.

Button Band

1. Pick up and knit 15 stitches along short edge.
2. Work in garter stitch for 8 rows.
