Crocheted Flower Bouquet

Materials

  • Worsted weight yarn in various colors (pink, purple, yellow, orange, blue, and white)
  • Size G (4.0 mm) crochet hook
  • Fiberfill stuffing (optional for added fullness)
  • Green yarn for stems
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle

Gauge

Gauge is not crucial for this project, but each flower should be about 4-5 inches wide.

Abbreviations

  • ch - chain
  • sl st - slip stitch
  • sc - single crochet
  • dc - double crochet
  • st - stitch
  • rnd - round

Flower Pattern

Each flower is worked in rounds. Choose your color and make each flower individually.

Flower Petals

  1. Make a magic circle or ch 4 and join to form a ring.
  2. Round 1: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc 11 into the ring. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (12 dc)
  3. Round 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), *dc in next st, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (18 dc)
  4. Round 3: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), *dc in next 2 sts, 2 dc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 3. (24 dc)
  5. Round 4: Ch 1, sc in same st, *ch 2, skip next st, sc in next st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc.
  6. Fasten off and weave in ends.

Flower Center

  1. With a contrasting color, make a magic circle and ch 1.
  2. Round 1: 6 sc into circle. Join with sl st to first sc. (6 sc)
  3. Round 2: *2 sc in each st; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to first sc. (12 sc)
  4. Fasten off, leaving long tail for sewing.
  5. Sew the center to the middle of your flower petals.

Stems

  1. Using green yarn, ch 20 for the length of the stem.
  2. Row 1: Sc in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. (19 sc)
  3. Fasten off and attach to the bottom of the flower.

Assemble Your Bouquet

Once your flowers are complete, group them together and wrap the stems together with a piece of green yarn. You can add a ribbon for a more polished look!
