Warm and Textured Autumn Harvest Fingerless Gloves
These fingerless gloves are as functional as they are stylish, featuring a delightful textured stitch that mimics the beauty of autumn foliage. Ideal for beginners, this pattern will guide you through every step to create your own pair!
Materials Needed:
- Bulky Weight Yarn (approx. 100 yards) - Suggested: Bernat Softee Chunky
- 8mm Crochet Hook
- Tapestry Needle
- Scissors
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- fpdc = front post double crochet
- bpdc = back post double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
Pattern:
Glove Cuff:
- Ch 10, sl st to first ch to form a ring.
- Round 1: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), dc in next 9 chs. (10 dc total)
- Round 2: *fpdc around next dc, bpdc around next dc; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 2.
- Repeat Round 2 until cuff measures 3 inches. Fasten off.
Main Glove Body:
- Attach yarn to the base of the first round of your cuff.
- Round 1: Ch 2, dc in same stitch, dc in next 9 stitches. (10 dc)
- Round 2: *fpdc around next dc, bpdc around next dc; repeat from * around. Join with sl st to top of ch 2.
- Continue the pattern until the glove measures 6 inches from the cuff or to desired length.
- Leave a gap for the thumb: omit the last 2 stitches in this round and sl st to close.
- Ch 3, skip the gap, and continue working the rest of the round.
Thumb Opening:
- Join yarn into the gap created.
- Ch 2, dc into the gap and work 3 more dc (4 dc total).
- Repeat the fpdc/bpdc pattern in this round.
- Continue until the thumb measures 2.5 inches from the base. Fasten off.
Finishing:
- Weave in all ends with a tapestry needle.
- Repeat for the second glove.
