Crochet Textured Triangular Warmth Shawl Free Pattern
Materials:
- 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn in main color (A)
- 1 skein of worsted weight yarn in contrasting color (B)
- 5.5 mm (I/9) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
Gauge:
4 clusters = 4 inches (10 cm) in width and height.
Finished Size:
Approximately 60 inches wide and 30 inches long at the center point.
Stitches Used:
- Ch - Chain
- Sl st - Slip stitch
- Hdc - Half double crochet
- Cluster - (Yarn over, insert hook into stitch, yarn over, pull through, yarn over, pull through 2 loops) twice in the same stitch
Pattern Instructions:
Foundation Row:
Ch 4, join to form a ring.
Row 1:
- Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), 2 hdc in ring, ch 2, 3 hdc in ring.
- Join with sl st to top of ch 2 to form the first triangle.
Row 2:
- Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), 2 hdc in same space, *ch 1, cluster in next ch 2 space, ch 1, 3 hdc in the same stitch from previous row*
- Repeat from * to * until you reach the end of the row, ending with a ch 1, cluster in the last space.
- Join with sl st to top of ch 2.
Row 3:
- Ch 2 (counts as first hdc), 2 hdc in same space, *ch 1, cluster in next cluster, ch 1, 3 hdc in the same stitch from previous row*
- Repeat from * to * until you reach the end of the row, ending with a ch 1, cluster in the last cluster.
- Join with sl st to top of ch 2.
Repeat Rows 2 and 3:
Continue repeating Rows 2 and 3, alternating colors every 2 rows until the shawl reaches your desired length.
Finishing:
- Fasten off and weave in all ends with yarn needle.
- Optional: Add tassels to the ends for added flair!
