Crochet Textured Elegant Cascade Scarf Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn (approx. 300-400 yards)
- Size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook
- Scissors
- Yarn needle
- Measuring tape
Gauge:
4 stitches x 4 rows in pattern = 4 inches square. Adjust hook size as necessary to achieve gauge.
Finished Size:
Approximately 60 inches long and 7 inches wide. Easily adjustable based on personal preference.
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- sc = single crochet
- st = stitch
- sl st = slip stitch
- rep = repeat
Pattern Instructions:
- Foundation Chain: Ch 23 (or any multiple of 6 plus 5 for desired width).
- Row 1: In the 4th ch from hook, dc. Dc in each chain across. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next st, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st; repeat from * across, ending with a dc in the last st. Turn.
- Row 3: Ch 3, skip first st, *dc in ch-1 space, ch 1; repeat from * across. Finish with a dc in the top of the turning ch. Turn.
- Row 4: Repeat Row 2.
- Row 5: Repeat Row 3.
- Continue alternating between Row 2 and Row 3 until your scarf reaches your desired length, approximately 60 inches.
- Finish: Fasten off with enough yarn to weave in ends. Weave in all loose ends carefully using your yarn needle.
Border (Optional):
For a polished finish, add a simple border: sc around the entire scarf, placing 3 sc in each corner. Join with a sl st to complete.
Care Instructions:
Hand wash cold, lay flat to dry to maintain shape and texture.
