Lush Textured Hooded Wrap Free Crochet Pattern

This stylish wrap is easy to make and perfect for beginners! Follow the detailed instructions below to create your own cozy piece.

Materials Needed:

  • Chunky yarn (approx. 500-600 yards)
  • 10 mm crochet hook
  • Scissors
  • Tapestry needle for weaving ends
  • Measuring tape

Stitch Abbreviations:

  • ch = chain
  • sc = single crochet
  • dc = double crochet
  • tr = treble crochet
  • st = stitch
  • sl st = slip stitch

Pattern Instructions:

Wrap Body

  1. Start by chaining 80 (or desired width). This will be the foundation of your wrap.
  2. Row 1: In the second chain from the hook, sc, *ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st*; repeat from * across, ending with a sc in the last st. Turn.
  3. Row 2: Ch 2 (counts as first dc), *sc in next ch 1 space, ch 1, dc in next sc*; repeat from * across. Turn.
  4. Repeat Rows 1 and 2 until the wrap measures approximately 60" long, or desired length. Finish off and weave in ends.

Hood

  1. Attach yarn to the top center of the wrap.
  2. Ch 40. In the 2nd ch from the hook, sc, *ch 1, skip next ch, dc in next ch*; repeat from * across. Turn.
  3. Ch 2, *sc in next ch 1 space, ch 1, dc in next sc*; repeat from * across.
  4. Continue this pattern until the hood measures approximately 12" tall. Finish off and weave in ends.
  5. Fold the hood in half and sew the back seam together.

Finishing Touches

  1. Attach the hood to the top of the wrap by sewing along the neckline.
  2. Optional: Add a fringe to the bottom of the wrap for an added style element.
  3. Weave in any remaining ends before wearing.

Care Instructions:

Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry.
