Instructions
Top
- Start by chaining 70 for the foundation row (this will be the width of the top).
- Row 1: Dc in the 4th chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in next stitch and in each stitch across. Turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures 18 inches from the foundation chain.
- Fold the piece in half; this is the body of the top.
- Now, for sleeves, continue working on both sides: ch 10 on each side to form a long sleeve.
- Work in dc for 12 inches, then decrease by skipping one stitch every third row until you have 10 stitches left.
- Finish off and weave in ends.
Skirt
- Chain 80 for the foundation row (this will be the width of the skirt).
- Row 1: Dc in the 4th chain from the hook and in each chain across. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each stitch across. Turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until the skirt measures 16 inches long.
- For the ruffled edge, work 5 tr in the last dc of the row. Sl st to the next stitch.
- Continue this ruffle pattern around the bottom edge of the skirt.
- To create a waistband, ch 10 and attach with sl st to the first stitch of the row. Keep working in single crochet until it fits snugly around your waist.
- Weave in ends and ensure everything is secure.
