Crochet Elegant Textured Waffle Stitch Scarf with Twisted Fringe Free Pattern
Materials:
- Worsted weight yarn (approximately 300 yards)
- Crochet hook size H (5.00 mm)
- Scissors
- Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- dc = double crochet
- hdc = half double crochet
- st = stitch
- sl st = slip stitch
Gauge: 16 stitches x 10 rows = 4 inches in textured waffle stitch.
Instructions:
- Ch 28 (or any even number for desired width).
- Row 1: Hdc in the 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn. (26 hdc)
- Row 2: Ch 2, dc in the first st, *(ch 1, skip next st, dc in next st)*; repeat from * to * across. Turn.
- Row 3: Ch 2, dc in the first st, *(ch 1, skip next ch-1 space, dc in next dc)*; repeat from * to * across. Turn.
- Repeat Rows 2-3 until scarf measures approximately 60 inches or desired length.
- Finish off, knotting yarn securely.
- Twisted Fringe: Cut strands of yarn 12 inches long. Take 4 strands, fold in half, and use a crochet hook to pull the folded end through the end stitches of the scarf. Pull the ends through the loop and tighten. Repeat for each fringe, spacing evenly.
- Weave in all ends with tapestry needle.
