Crochet Delightfully Whimsical Purring Kittens Infinity Scarf

Materials:

• Worsted weight yarn in your choice of three colors (A, B, C)
• Size I/9 (5.5 mm) crochet hook
• Yarn needle
• Scissors

Gauge:

15 stitches and 10 rows = 4 inches in double crochet.

Dimensions:

Infinity scarf measures approximately 8 inches wide by 60 inches long after blocking.

Pattern Notes:

This pattern is worked in the round. If you wish to make it wider, you can increase the number of stitches for the foundation chain, but be sure to keep it a multiple of 12.

Instructions:

Foundation Row:

With Color A, ch 120 and join with a sl st to form a ring, being careful not to twist the chain.

Row 1:

Chain 3 (counts as the first double crochet), then dc in each chain around. Join with a sl st to the top of the beginning ch-3.

Row 2:

Change to Color B. Ch 3 and dc in the next 4 stitches, *change to Color C, dc in the next 5 stitches, change back to Color B, dc in the next 7 stitches; repeat from * around. Join.

Row 3:

With Color A, ch 3 and dc in each stitch around. Join.

Row 4:

Repeat Row 2.

Row 5-10:

Continue alternating Rows 3 and 4 until scarf measures approximately 60 inches.

Kittens Motif:

To create kitten faces: In the last two rounds of the scarf, switch to Color B and add the motif by using surface slip stitching to embroider eyes, noses, and whiskers on alternating sections as desired.

Finishing:

Fasten off all yarns. Weave in all ends with the yarn needle. Lightly steam block the scarf to shape it evenly.

Care:

Hand wash in cold water, lay flat to dry.
