Colorful Bicycle Yarn Bombing Pattern

Materials:

• Various colors of medium worsted weight yarn
• Crochet hook size I/9 (5.5 mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

Gauge:

Gauge is not necessary for this project.

Abbreviations:

• ch = chain
• sl st = slip stitch
• sc = single crochet
• hdc = half double crochet
• dc = double crochet

Instructions:

Handlebars Cover:

1. Choose a color for the handlebars. Chain a length that matches the length of your handlebars.
2. Row 1: Starting in the second chain from the hook, sc across. Turn.
3. Row 2-5: Ch 1, sc across, turn.
4. Continue until the piece is wide enough to wrap around the handlebars. Slip stitch the edges together to form a tube.

Frame Cover:

1. Using different colors, repeat the steps from the handlebars to cover different sections of the frame.
2. For the main frame, use dc stitches to make the piece quicker to work up.

Wheel Decorations:

1. For the spokes, make long chains that reach from one side of the wheel to the other.
2. Secure the chains with a sl st to each spoke as you go along.

Finishing Touches:

1. Use leftover yarn to make small pom-poms or flowers and attach them randomly to add more character.
2. Weave in all loose ends with a tapestry needle.

Attach each completed piece to the appropriate part of the bicycle, securing with yarn or zip ties if needed.
