Cable Knit Blanket

Materials

• Yarn: 2 skeins of worsted weight yarn in turquoise and 1 skein in white
• Needles: Size 8 (5.0 mm) circular needles
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for weaving in ends
• Measuring tape

Gauge

20 stitches and 24 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Abbreviations

• k = knit
• p = purl
• k2tog = knit two together (decrease)

Instructions

1. Cast On: Cast on 140 stitches using the turquoise yarn. This will give you a width of approximately 36 inches.
2. Row 1 (Right Side): Knit all stitches.
3. Row 2: Purl all stitches.
4. Row 3: *Knit 5, k2tog, yo, k2, yo, k2tog; repeat from * to the end of the row.

10. Repeat Rows 1-8: Continue repeating these 8 rows until your piece measures approximately 48 inches in length, or to your desired length.
11. Finish: Once you reach the desired length, knit one row followed by a purl row to create a simple border. Then, bind off all stitches.
12. Weave in Ends: Use a tapestry needle to weave in any loose ends from your project.

Final Size

Finished blanket will measure approximately 36 inches by 48 inches, perfect for snuggling.
