Instructions:
Body:
- Start with a slip knot and chain 42 (this will be the width of the bodice).
- Row 1: In the 4th chain from the hook, make 1 dc. Continue to make 1 dc in each chain across. You should have 40 dc at the end of this row. Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3 (counts as first dc), dc in each st across. Turn.
- Repeat Row 2 until the piece measures 10 inches long, or desired length.
- Once you reach the desired length, chain 1, and single crochet around the entire edge of the bodice for a neat finish. Slip stitch to first st to join.
Straps:
- For the straps, attach yarn to the top edge of the bodice. Ch 25 and turn.
- Row 1: Sc in the 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn.
- Repeat Row 1 for 4 more rows. Fasten off and weave in ends.
- Repeat for the second strap on the opposite side of the bodice.
Bottom: (Shorts)
- Attach yarn to the bottom of the bodice. Ch 42 for the first leg opening.
- Row 1: Dc in the 4th chain from hook and continue to dc across (40 dc). Turn.
- Row 2: Ch 3, dc in each st across (40 dc). Turn.
- Continue until this section measures 6 inches long or desired length. Now, repeat the above for the second leg opening.
Finishing:
- Weave all loose ends using the tapestry needle.
- For extra detail, you can add buttons or decorative stitches at the junction of the bodice and shorts.
