  • Next Row (WS): Work even in pattern.

Repeat these two rows until 15 sts remain.

  • Next Row (RS): K1, (Sl1 wyif, K2tog) 3 times, K1. (9 sts)

Cut yarn, leaving a long tail. Thread tail through remaining sts and pull tight to close. Weave in end.

Thumb (Make 2)

Step 1: With Color A, CO 15 sts.

Step 2: Work in slip-stitch pattern (Rows 1-4) for 2 inches, ending with a Row 4.

Shape Top

  • Next Row (RS): K1, Sl1 wyif, K2tog, work in pattern to last 4 sts, K2tog, Sl1 wyif, K1. (13 sts)
  • Next Row (WS): Work even in pattern.

Repeat these two rows until 5 sts remain.

Cut yarn, thread through remaining sts, pull tight, and weave in end.

Finishing

  1. Seam the body: With right sides together, using a tapestry needle and Color A yarn, sew the side seam of the mitt body, leaving a 2-inch opening for the thumb at the bottom edge.
