Materials

• 100% Cotton Yarn (Color: Beige) - approximately 100 yards
• Crochet Hook (Size H/8 - 5.0 mm)
• Scissors
• Tapestry Needle for weaving in ends

4 inches = 12 single crochet stitches

Abbreviations

• ch = chain
• sc = single crochet
• sl st = slip stitch
• st = stitch
• FO = fasten off

Instructions

1. Begin with a slip knot: Create a slip knot and place it on your hook.
2. Chain 31: Yarn over and pull through the loop on your hook to make your first chain. Repeat this until you have a total of 31 chains.
3. Row 1: Starting from the second chain from the hook, insert your hook into the chain, yarn over, pull up a loop (2 loops on hook), yarn over again, and pull through both loops on your hook. This is a single crochet (sc). Continue single crocheting in each chain across until you reach the end. You should have 30 sc at the end of this row.
4. Row 2-30: Chain 1 and turn your work. In this row, sc in each st across. Repeat this row until your dishcloth measures approximately 10 inches in length or until you have completed 30 rows.
5. Last Row: After completing 30 rows, chain 1, and sc in the first st, then continue sc across the row to the end. This will give it a nice finished edge.
6. Finishing: Cut the yarn, leaving a long tail for weaving in. Pull the yarn through the last loop on your hook and pull tight to secure. Use your tapestry needle to weave in any loose ends.
