Whimsical Twisted Leaf Acorn Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Worsted weight yarn in brown and green
- G/4mm crochet hook
- Polyfill stuffing
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
Stitch Abbreviations:
- Ch - chain
- Sc - single crochet
- Inc - increase (2 sc in the same stitch)
- Dec - decrease (sc two together)
Pattern Instructions:
Acorn Cap:
- Using brown yarn, ch 4.
- Join with a sl st to form a ring.
- Round 1: Ch 1, 6 sc in the ring. Join with a sl st to the first sc (6 sc).
- Round 2: Ch 1, (Inc in next st) 6 times. Join with a sl st (12 sc).
- Round 3: Ch 1, (sc in next st, Inc in next st) 6 times. Join with a sl st (18 sc).
- Round 4: Ch 1, (sc in next 2 st, Inc in next st) 6 times. Join with a sl st (24 sc).
- Round 5: Ch 1, sc in each stitch. Join (24 sc).
- Fasten off and leave a long tail for sewing.
Acorn Body:
- Using brown yarn, ch 2.
- Round 1: 6 sc in the second ch from the hook.
- Round 2: (Inc in next st) 6 times (12 sc).
- Round 3: (sc in next st, Inc in next st) 6 times (18 sc).
- Round 4: (sc in next 2 st, Inc in next st) 6 times (24 sc).
- Round 5-8: sc in each st (24 sc each round).
- Round 9: (sc in next 2 st, Dec) 6 times (18 sc).
- Round 10: (sc in next st, Dec) 6 times (12 sc).
- Stuff the acorn body with polyfill.
- Round 11: Dec around (6 sc).
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail, and close the opening.
Twisted Leaf:
- Using green yarn, ch 8.
- Row 1: Sc in the second ch from the hook and sc in each ch across (7 sc).
- Row 2: Ch 1, turn, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the first st, sc across, (sc, ch 2, sc) in the last st.
- Row 3: Ch 1, turn; sc in first st, (ch 1, sl st in the next 1 ch, ch 1) across, sc in last st.
- Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
Assembly:
- Sew the acorn cap onto the acorn body.
- Sew the twisted leaf to the top of the acorn cap.
Customization:
Experiment with different yarn colors for a unique look. Add embellishments like beads or ribbons for extra flair!
