Crochet Sparkling Iridescent Butterfly Magnet Free Pattern
Materials Needed:
- Cotton yarn in various colors
- Iridescent shimmery thread
- Size 3.5 mm crochet hook
- Small magnets
- Yarn needle
- Scissors
- Hot glue gun
Abbreviations:
- ch = chain
- sc = single crochet
- dc = double crochet
- sl st = slip stitch
- st(s) = stitch(es)
Instructions:
Body and Antennae:
- With main yarn color, ch 13.
- Starting from the 2nd ch from the hook, sc in each ch across. (12 sc)
- Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.
- For antennae, use the yarn in the same color: ch 15, knot the end tightly, trim, and fasten it in the middle of the butterfly body.
Upper Wings (Make 4):
- With main yarn and shimmery thread held together, form a magic circle.
- Work 3 dc, 1 sl st, 3 dc into the circle, sl st to join.
- Tighten the circle. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.
Lower Wings (Make 4):
- Repeat as for the upper wings, using the same yarns together but make 2 dc in each space to create a smaller wing.
Assembly:
- Position wings on each side of the body, with the upper wings slightly overlapping the lower wings. Sew in place.
- Sew the antennae to the top of the body.
- Attach a magnet to the back with a hot glue gun.
Finishing:
- Weave in ends neatly and trim any excess yarn.
