Materials Needed

• Worsted weight yarn in colors: Cream, Light Brown, Dark Brown, and Charcoal
• Crochet hook size I/9 (5.5mm)
• Tapestry needle
• Scissors

4 rows x 4 stitches = 1 inch in pattern

Finished Size

Approximately 70 inches long and 18 inches wide

Abbreviations

• ch - chain
• st - stitch
• hdc - half double crochet
• bl - back loop

Instructions

Stripe Pattern

Follow this sequence for colors:
Cream, Light Brown, Dark Brown, Charcoal

1. With Cream, ch 250.
2. Row 1: Hdc in the 3rd ch from hook and in each ch across. Turn.
3. Row 2: Ch 2, hdc in bl of each st across. Turn.
4. Repeat Row 2 for 8 inches. Change to Light Brown.
5. Continue repeating Row 2 for 8 inches with each color as per stripe pattern.
6. Once all stripes are completed, fasten off and weave in ends.

Fringe

Cut 12-inch pieces of yarn in each color. Attach fringe to each end of the shawl, alternating colors. Trim to desired length.

Finishing

Block shawl lightly to open up stitches and allow it to drape beautifully.
