Instructions

Base

1. With your chosen starting color, ch 41.
   Row 1: Sc in second ch from the hook and across. (40 sc)
2. Rows 2-5: Ch 1, turn. Sc in each st across. (40 sc)

Woven Strips

1. Row 1: Attach new color. Ch 1, sc in each st across. (40 sc)
2. Rows 2-6: Ch 3 (counts as dc), dc in each st across. (40 dc) Fasten off and weave in ends. Repeat to create 12 strips using various colors.

Assembling the Woven Pattern

1. Lay the strips vertically and horizontally, weaving them together to form a checkerboard pattern.
