Crochet Adorable Reversible Bee Amigurumi Free Pattern

Materials Needed:

  • Worsted weight yarn in yellow, black, and cream
  • Crochet hook size G/4.0mm
  • Stuffing
  • Safety eyes (2 pairs of 6mm)
  • Tapestry needle
  • Pink embroidery thread for cheeks and mouth

Abbreviations:

  • sc: single crochet
  • inc: increase (2 sc in one stitch)
  • dec: decrease (sc two stitches together)
  • sl st: slip stitch
  • ch: chain

Pattern Instructions

Bee Body (Make 2 - Yellow-Black and Black-Yellow)

  1. With black yarn, start with a magic ring. Round 1: 6 sc in the ring. (6)
  2. Round 2: 2 sc in each stitch around. (12)
  3. Round 3: (sc in next st, inc) repeat around. (18)
  4. Round 4: (sc in next 2 st, inc) repeat around. (24)
  5. Round 5: (sc in next 3 st, inc) repeat around. (30)
  6. Round 6: Change to yellow yarn. Sc in each stitch around. (30)
  7. Round 7: Sc in each stitch around. (30)
  8. Round 8: Change to black yarn. Sc in each stitch around. (30)
  9. Round 9: Sc in each stitch around. (30)
  10. Round 10: Repeat Rounds 6-9 with yellow and black stripes interchangeably. (Repeat these rounds for desired length, usually four color changes).
  11. Begin to stuff the body with fiberfill.
  12. Round Ending: (sc in next 3 st, dec) repeat around. (24)
  13. Continue decreasing: (sc in next 2 st, dec) repeat around. (18), (sc in next st, dec) repeat around. (12), (dec) around. (6)
  14. Close the hole with a sl st, and fasten off.

Wings (Make 4)

  1. With cream yarn, start with a magic ring. Round 1: 6 sc in the ring. (6)
  2. Round 2: (sc in next st, inc) repeat around. (9)
  3. Round 3: sc in each stitch around. (9)
  4. Fasten off, leaving a long tail for sewing.

Antennae (Make 4)

  1. With black yarn, ch 6.
  2. Sl st in the second ch from the hook and across. (5 sl st)
  3. Fasten off, leaving a tail for sewing.

Finishing

  1. Attach safety eyes between rows 3 and 4, about 3-4 stitches apart. Embroider the mouth using pink thread.
  2. Sew wings to both sides of each bee body.
  3. Sew antennae on top of each bee's head.
  4. Embroider cheeks with pink thread.
  5. Ensure stuffing is even and close any small gaps with a tapestry needle if needed.
