Cozy Ribbed Knit Scarf Pattern
Materials
- Yarn: 2 skeins of medium-weight yarn in mauve
- Knitting needles: Size 8 (5mm)
- Tapestry needle
- Scissors
Gauge
4 inches = 18 stitches and 24 rows in rib stitch pattern
Abbreviations
- CO - Cast On
- P - Purl
- K - Knit
- BO - Bind Off
- Rep - Repeat
Instructions
Step 1: Cast On
CO 40 stitches. You can adjust the width of the scarf by casting on more or fewer stitches, keeping them even.
Step 2: Ribbing Pattern
Row 1: *K2, P2*, rep from * to end of row.
Row 2: *K2, P2*, rep from * to end of row.
Continue knitting in the ribbing pattern until the scarf measures approximately 60 inches or your desired length, ending with a complete row.
Step 3: Bind Off
BO loosely in pattern to maintain elasticity.
Step 4: Finishing
Weave in all loose ends using the tapestry needle.
Block your scarf to shape it, if desired. This helps even out the stitches and gives a polished finish.
Care Instructions
Hand wash in cold water and lay flat to dry. Avoid wringing or twisting.
