Materials

  • Yarn: 100% wool yarn, bulky weight, 5 skeins in soft pink
  • Needles: US size 10 (6.0 mm) circular knitting needles
  • Stitch markers
  • Measuring tape
  • Scissors
  • Yarn needle for weaving in ends

Gauge

12 stitches and 15 rows = 4 inches in stockinette stitch.

Abbreviations

  • CO: Cast On
  • K: Knit
  • P: Purl
  • RS: Right Side
  • WS: Wrong Side
  • Cable (C): Knit stitches together from the cable cross.

Instructions

Body

  1. CO 80 stitches.
  2. Work in ribbing (K2, P2) for 4 inches.
  3. Begin the body pattern:
    • Row 1 (RS): K2, *C, K2; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, K2.
    • Row 2 (WS): K2, *P2, K2; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, K2.
    • Repeat Rows 1 and 2 for 14 inches or until the desired length before armholes.
  4. To shape armholes, bind off 8 stitches at the beginning of the next 2 rows.
  5. Continue in pattern for 14 inches.
  6. Bind off all stitches loosely.

Sleeves (Make 2)

  1. CO 40 stitches.
  2. Work in ribbing (K2, P2) for 3 inches.
  3. Begin sleeve pattern:
    • Row 1 (RS): K2, *C, K2; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, K2.
    • Row 2 (WS): K2, *P2, K2; repeat from * to last 2 stitches, K2.
  4. Continue working in pattern for 12 inches.
  5. Bind off all stitches loosely.

Assembly

  1. Block all pieces to measurements.
  2. Using a yarn needle, sew the sleeves to the body at the armholes.
  3. Weave in all loose ends.
